Lunches and dinners don’t always have to be over complicated with tons of ingredients, prep work or planning. Especially when the weather is nice out and mommy needs a break from the kitchen.
A fail-safe freezer staple that we always keep on hand is a package of Moran’s hamburger patties. We used to buy the bargain packs but Moran’s patties keep their flavor. Honestly, the last thing you want is to drop a frozen patty onto the grill, wait patiently for it to cook up only to sink your teeth into a soggy piece of cardboard. For this, spend the extra $2.
There’s no big secret to grilling packaged burgers. Slap ’em on the searing hot grill, turn for the fancy lines and you’re done. The secret to a delicious packaged burger is what you put on it and how you dress it once it’s done. Of course, toast your buns and add lettuce and tomatoes. Seriously, it doesn’t take that long to slice a tomato or rinse a leaf of lettuce. You’ll thank yourself for it once it’s in your mouth.
For an amazing tasting “steak burger”, add McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Steak seasoning. It’s got a perfect blend of salts, red and black peppers, garlic and other magical ingredients that are undeniably spectacular. Another favorite in my house is to use A1 Sauce instead of ketchup. C’mon… A1 on a burger just makes sense. Finish your plate with sliced watermelon and a handful of baked chips and you’ve got a great lunch or dinner.
Happy grilling!
