Shredded BBQ Chicken Sandwich

BBQ Shredded Chicken Sandwich, Kraft Mac & Cheese and Green Beans

Home-made, shredded BBQ chicken sandwich, Kraft Mac & Cheese and green beans. A mouthwatering Fall meal fit for a king!

Just when I got ready to snap this photo, my daughter decided to pop her ear-to-ear grin into the shot. “Photobombed!” she exclaimed. I didn’t get mad. I slowly aimed my iPhone up a little to capture her face along with the savory goodness piled on my plate. “That’s going on the blog.” I said with a smile and a raised eye brow. “Wait…” she started. But there was no “wait”. There was a plate of food ready for my taste buds.

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 chicken, whole
  • 1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce. (I like Stater Bros Smoked)
  • 1 Box of Kraft Mac & Cheese (It really is the best)
  • 1 Can of Green Giant green beans

Preparation:

Get out your crock pot for this one. Clean your chicken under warm water and then place it, along with the bottle of BBQ sauce into the crock pot. Set it on low if you’ve got all day, medium if you have half the day. The longer and lower you cook it, the more it’ll just fall off the bones. For a sandwich like this, that’s what you want. Just before your chicken is done, heat up the green beans while you make the Mac & Cheese.

When the chicken is done cooking, pull it out of the crock pot, bone it, layer it onto sandwich rolls and then slather on the cooked BBQ sauce from the pot. Plate it and whip out your iPhone to show everyone on Instagram what a delicious meal they’ll be missing out on. Everyone, of course, but the rotten teenager whose ruining your photo.
